One of the oldest homesteads in Virginia, built in 1784. It’s a restaurant these days with servers in period costume and traditional Southern fare like fried chicken. Tours feature interactive demonstrations, and continue through the Tavern’s outbuildings and exhibits on Virginia wine. Cost is free for locals, $4.50 for kids ages 6-11, $8 for seniors, AAA members and military personnel. Adults are $9 during the summer, $7 November through March.
